Coach Ariyanna Hines brings a championship pedigree, a servant-hearted approach, and a genuine passion for developing young women through the game of basketball.

A DeSoto native, Ariyanna was a four-year varsity player at DeSoto High School, where she helped lead the Eagles to the program's first-ever UIL State Championship in 2021. Competing in one of the nation's premier high school basketball programs gave her firsthand experience in the discipline, accountability, and team-first mindset required to perform at the highest levels.

Following her high school career, Ariyanna continued her playing career at Texas Woman's University. During her time with the Pioneers, she contributed to one of the most successful eras in program history, helping the team reach the 2024 NCAA Division II National Championship game. While balancing the demands of collegiate athletics, she earned her Bachelor's degree in Social Work, a field that reflects her heart for serving and investing in others.

Today, Ariyanna serves as the Assistant JV/ Varsity Basketball Coach and Assistant Track Coach at The Hockaday School. Her experience as both an athlete and coach allows her to connect with players in meaningful ways, helping them navigate the challenges of competition while developing confidence, resilience, and leadership skills that extend far beyond sports.

What stands out most about Coach Ariy is her ability to build authentic relationships with athletes. She brings positive energy, enthusiasm, and intentionality to every gym she enters. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes player development, basketball IQ, work ethic, and accountability while creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and empowered to reach their potential.

At Team Kidd Texas, Coach Ariy is committed to helping young women grow not only as basketball players, but as teammates, leaders, and individuals of high character. Her passion for mentorship, combined with her championship experience and love for the game, make her a valuable part of our coaching staff and culture.
