Head Coach
Brief info

Coach Moss brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a deep commitment to developing the whole athlete—mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Gaby is currently the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at The Hockaday School, a role she has held since 2023. In a short time, she has begun building a strong, competitive culture—leading the program to its first winning season in seven years and establishing a foundation rooted in accountability, growth, and team-first basketball.

Prior to Hockaday, Gaby coached with other Dallas-based AAU programs. Throughout her coaching career, she has worked with athletes at every level—from elementary through college—across Texas, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, and Arkansas. Her ability to connect with players across ages and stages allows her to develop athletes with both skill and confidence.

A former Division I athlete, Gaby played collegiately at Georgia State University on full scholarship, where she served as team captain and earned her Bachelor of Business Administration. She later transferred to Savannah State University to complete her final season, again serving as team captain while earning her Master of Business Administration. Her leadership, discipline, and competitive mindset have consistently set her apart both as a player and now as a coach.

Growing up in a military family, Gaby lived in multiple states—Texas being the 12th place she has called home. These experiences shaped her perspective and coaching philosophy, instilling values of adaptability, discipline, and teamwork. She is passionate about using the game of basketball to help develop young women into confident, resilient leaders.

As a coach, Gaby is intentional in creating an environment where athletes are both challenged and supported. She emphasizes holistic player development and is committed to building a culture grounded in curiosity, integrity, respect, and discipline. Her mission is to equip athletes not only to succeed on the court, but to thrive in all areas of life.

Outside of the gym, Gaby enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends—continuing to embrace the growth mindset that defines both her life and her coaching.
