Marcus Boyd

Marcus Boyd
Head Coach
Marcus began his coaching journey in 2015 when his son, Marcus “MJ” Boyd Jr., started playing competitive basketball. What started as a way to stay involved quickly grew into something much bigger, as Marcus founded the DFW Raiders—a competitive boys youth basketball program that also created opportunities for his daughter, Trinity Boyd, to train, compete, and develop alongside high-level players.
As the program evolved, the boys side merged with Team Ferrari, which later became part of the nationally recognized 99 OVR 3SSB program. In 2017, Marcus and his wife, Casey, launched the DFW Lady Raiders, creating a space for girls to compete, grow, and develop at a high level. In 2020, the Lady Raiders joined forces with True Texas Hoops, helping expand opportunities for female athletes across the region and contributing to the continued growth of girls basketball in North Texas.
Marcus currently serves as the Assistant Head Coach for Jason Kidd Select 16U Girls, where he continues to invest in the development of young women both on and off the court.
As a coach, Marcus emphasizes physicality, rebounding, defensive intensity, basketball IQ, and confidence. He is passionate about helping athletes understand their value, find their voice, and believe in their ability to achieve whatever they set their minds to. His approach is rooted in accountability, toughness, and a commitment to team-first basketball.
Marcus and his wife Casey are proud parents of three children: MJ Boyd Jr., Trinity Boyd (Class of 2030 – Jason Kidd Select South 16U), and Kendyl Boyd (Class of 2033 – Team Kidd Texas). Their entire family is deeply rooted in the game, and their impact on the program reflects a shared commitment to developing the next generation of athletes and leaders.
