Head Coach

Coach Monesha Allen brings decades of excellence, leadership, and a championship mindset to the court, with a reputation for getting the very best out of her players.

A native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Coach Allen has spent over 30 years in Denton ISD, building one of the most respected and consistent programs in the state. Throughout her career, she has amassed over 500 wins, made numerous playoff appearances, and earned multiple Coach of the Year honors—recognized by her peers for both her success and the standard she sets.

Most recently, Allen led Denton Ryan High School to back-to-back Class 5A Division I State Championships in 2024–2025 and 2025–2026, a remarkable achievement that further solidifies her legacy as one of the premier coaches in Texas high school basketball. Her ability to develop, lead, and elevate her teams on the biggest stage is a reflection of both her experience and her unwavering commitment to excellence.

Her impact extends far beyond wins and titles. She was named the 2024–2025 NFHS Texas State Coach of the Year in Girls Basketball and has also been recognized as Teacher of the Year at Ryan High School (2025–2026) and Denton ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year—honors that reflect her commitment to excellence in every area of her life.

As a coach, Allen believes in high expectations, clear communication, and always giving your best—for the benefit of both the individual and the team. Her programs are known for discipline, accountability, and toughness, while also fostering growth, confidence, and resilience in the young women she leads.

Coach Allen is passionate about making a lifelong impact, using the game of basketball as a vehicle to prepare her athletes not only for competition, but for life.

We are especially excited to have Coach Allen as part of the Team Kidd Texas family alongside her daughter, Atiya Everett, a talented point guard on our Team Kidd 17U team. Their presence in our program reflects exactly who we are—strong women, strong leaders, and a commitment to developing the next generation both on and off the court.
