Nikola Zilakova

Head Coach

Coach Nikola brings an international perspective and high-level playing experience to the court, shaped by her journey from Prague, Czech Republic, to the United States.

Originally from Prague, Nikola began her basketball career competing at an elite level, including representing the Czech National Team and playing for ZVVZ USK Prague—one of the top professional clubs in Europe. Her early experience on the international stage helped form her strong understanding of the game, discipline, and team-first mindset.

Nikola moved to the United States to pursue both her academic and athletic career, beginning in New York City at Borough of Manhattan Community College. During her time at BMCC, she earned recognition as a two-time CUNY All-Star and finished her career among the program’s all-time leaders in scoring, assists, and three-point field goals made.

Following her playing career, Nikola transitioned into coaching in New York City before continuing her journey in Dallas, Texas, where she has further developed her work in coaching and player development. Her international background, combined with her collegiate experience, allows her to bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to the athletes she coaches.

As a coach, Nikola is passionate about developing fundamentally sound, confident players. She emphasizes discipline, leadership, and a team-first approach, while creating an environment where athletes are challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow both on and off the court.

Outside of the gym, Nikola brings a global perspective and deep love for the game, pouring into her athletes with intentionality and a desire to help them reach their full potential. Nikola currently lives in Irving, TX with her husband and two little daughters.
