Brief info
Coach Casey is a 2000 graduate of Palo Duro High School. She was a member of the 5A State Championship runner-up team in 1998, named 1st Team All-State (Jr/Sr), named All-District and District MVP (Jr/Sr), and named to the MVP of the Super Team (Sr). Casey was also a member of the West Texas Flyers AAU team, which won three National Championships in a row, and she was named to the AAU National All-American team.
A graduate of Texas Tech University (‘05) with a Master’s Degree in Accounting and General Business, Casey was a four-year basketball letter winner. As a Lady Raider, she was known for her ability to defend the best player on the other team. Casey was named to the First Team Big 12 All-Academic Team (’02, ’03, ‘04).
At the conclusion of her playing career, Casey accepted an internship at Ernst & Young in Dallas, began a career in public accounting, and obtained her CPA license. She has been actively coaching youth basketball in the area since 2017. Currently, Casey is the Head Girls Varsity Basketball Coach at Grace Prep Academy, where in only her 3rd season her team had a record breaking season, making it to the 2024 TAAPS 4A State Tournament. Casey is also the Chief Financial Officer at Grace Prep.
Casey met her husband, Marcus Boyd, while at Texas Tech. They have three children: Marcus Jr., Trinity Rose (TTH 2030), and Kendyl Reese (TTH 2033). When Casey is not on a basketball court she can be found working out, attending church, watching sports, or following her children.
