Director of Player Development & Coaching
Brief info

Coach Kim founded True Texas Hoops in 2015 where she invested in the development of female athletes across the metroplex for ten years before partnering with Jason Kidd Select. She is a 1995 graduate of Cleburne High School, where she won the 4A State Championship in 1995. Kimberly is a member of the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame (2003).

Kim is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin (‘00) and was a four-year basketball letter winner. As a Lady Longhorn, Crabtree was known for her ability to shoot the basketball. Her collegiate athletic accolades include:

  • Big 12 All-Conference Honorable Mention (‘98-‘99)
  • First Team Big 12 All-Academic Team (‘97-‘98, ‘98-‘99)
  • No. 1 in single season free throw percentage, shooting .938 (‘98-‘99)
  • 3rd all-time in free throw percentage at UT
  • 7th all-time in 3 pt. field goals made at UT

At the conclusion of her playing career, Kim traded in her basketball shoes for a clipboard and whistle. She spent a year on the bench serving as a Student Coach for Hall of Fame Coach Jody Conradt at the University of Texas. Next, Kim’s passion for coaching took her to the West Coast, where she spent five seasons as an Assistant Coach at The University of California, Irvine (‘00-‘05). It was during this time that Kim married her husband, Scott, and they welcomed the first of their four daughters. Kim has been actively coaching youth basketball in the Flower Mound/Argyle/Denton area since relocating to Texas in 2009.

Besides her incredible resume (which, come on—that is seriously impressive!), Kim is a humble leader whose athleticism and ability to teach the game of basketball is unmatched. Her coaching staff can attest that Coach Kim’s ability to flat-out shoot the basketball is still second to none, too! She is always prepared, fiercely loyal to her players, and determined to bring out the very best in each of our TTH athletes. Her practice plans have purpose and precision and her coaching style is calm and smart.

When Kim is not on a basketball court she can be found working out, attending church, going on long walks, working out, watching basketball and football on TV, working out -- you get the idea! The beaches of California are her oasis when our club breaks for the season, but her roots are happily planted in her home state of Texas raising her four daughters, Ashlyn (Vanguard University 2027), Reese (Vanguard University 2029), Summer (JKS 2028) and Zoe (TKT 2031). Kim is a disciplined, high-character leader and a wonderful mentor to the athletes in our JK Select program.
